MFA in Writing Program Continues to Impress
Poets & Writers magazine has ranked Pacific University's Master of Fine Arts in Writing program third in its "2013 Popularity Survey" for low-residency MFA programs based in North America. The ranking is the program's highest in its nine-year history.
Pacific's program helps talented and dedicated writers create quality portfolios of fiction, nonfiction or poetry while celebrating an art with the potential to make a difference in the world.
The university's MFA in writing faculty features some of the country's most talented writers.
In twice-yearly residency sessions, students and writer advisors participate in workshops, develop study plans, and form relationships that facilitate the work that continues between residencies during the correspondence semester. The program features award-winning writers who work closely with students to support and inspire emerging craft and voice.
In the belief that writers can and must lead full and interesting lives, the program embraces students who have full-time jobs and other obligations. For more information, please contact Shelley Washburn at (503) 352-1532 or Colleen Sump at (503) 352-1533.
