In Memory: Sandi Nyback-Smith ’62
Sandi Nyback-Smith ’62 died Mar. 24, 2019, at age 78, surrounded by family and loved ones. After graduating from Pacific, she returned to her hometown of Klamath Falls, Ore., to help her parents’ business, Nyback Flowers. Her passion and talent for flower arrangement resulted in accolades in the Florists’ Transworld Delivery, including two terms as its international president.
She was an accomplished pianist and played throughout Oregon for different organizations and state conventions. She generously contributed her time, talent, music, and flowers in the community to Masonic organizations and other groups. She married Keith Smith and they raised three children together. Although their marriage ended, her family remained of utmost importance to her. She loved hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as throwing barbecues, birthdays, and holiday dinners with her family. She was preceded in death by her son, Aaron; and parents, Al and Nine. She is survived by her children, Jarod Smith and Kendra Jones; five grandchildren; and an extended family.
