In Memory: Paul Ranslow '71

Paul B. Ranslow ’71 died Apr. 9, 2018, at age 70, after battling cancer. He had a distinguished 40-year career in higher education as a professor, dean, vice-president, and president at three colleges: Pitzer College (Calif.), Ripon College (Wis.), and Sierra Nevada College (Nev.). He also served at Pacific as the director of admissions for a number of years. He was dedicated to advocating for students of all backgrounds, broadening racial and ethnic diversity of the student body, and exercising a passionate commitment to community building. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ida; and father-in-law, Fred Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; siblings, Peter and Susan Solorzano; and an extended family.
