In Memoriam: Warren Mitchell ’62

Warren “Skip” Mitchell ’62 died Jan. 13, 2022, at age 81. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Pacific University, then he forged a career in banking, serving as assistant vice president of minority lending. He later started Warren Mitchell Photography to pursue his true passions of photography and postcard-making. As an avid nature enthusiast, he was able to create a career that blended photography, nature and teaching. Teaching photography became a source of joy for Mitchell, as students throughout the Portland area came to learn and develop their skills in appreciation of his art. Those experiences with his students remained his most cherished memories into his final days. Mitchell is survived by his brother, Tom; sister Mariann; daughters Ashley and Libby; son Tom; and several grandchildren.
