In Memoriam: Michael "Mike" Jones ’76
Michael “Mike” Jones ’76 died Feb. 5, 2022, at age 66. Raised in Los Angeles, he earned his bachelor’s degree at Pacific and stayed in the Pacific Northwest for more than 20 years. While in Portland, he was an interim minister of Berean Baptist Church and served as church and school administrator, minister and building coordinator for Maranatha Church. In 1998, he returned to Los Angeles, where he was president and CEO of the Crenshaw Chamber of Commerce, founded Success Management consulting company, and served as executive director of the Crenshaw YMCA. He was a long-time member and member of the Board of Trustees of Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.
He is survived by his wife, Jacki Williams-Jones; his former wife, LaVeta Jones; his children, Gabriel (and Katherine) Jones, LeAnn Jones (and Kristian) Wiles, Michael Emmanuel (and Sarah) Jones, Charisse Williams (and Dave) Laredo, and Oquendo Jones (and Jennifer) Kimbrough; and 10 grandchildren.
