In Memoriam: Linda (Hoar) Lewis ’65, MA ’69

Linda (Hoar) Lewis ’65, MA ’69 died Sept. 27, 2021, at age 78. A music-lover with a passion for education, she taught music in public schools in California, briefly worked at Pacific, and went on to teach at Linfield until her retirement in 2005. She also ran a small private school for 20 years, which she started so the children in her family would have an enriching education. She was preceded in death by her father, George Hoar ’35; her uncle, Leslie Hoar ’23; and her husband, John, who taught business and economics at Pacific from 1999 to 2005.

She is survived by her children, Evan Lewis and Mollie Nouwen, and grandchildren Max, Penelope, and Henry.
