In Memoriam: Laura N. Rogers PA ’16
Laura Rogers ’16 died Jan. 6, 2023, at age 36. Known for her deep compassion for the patients, Rogers touched the lives of so many hurting people through her work. She graduated from William and Mary University in Williamsburg, Va., with degrees in cultural anthropology and women's studies, going on to earn a physician assistant master's degree from Pacific University in 2016.
She worked for Providence Hospital, providing urgent care, and later for Hooper Detox Clinic in Portland, specializing in addiction medicine. She enjoyed visiting Portland's eateries and scenic wineries, and spending time with her beloved dog, Dakota. Her fiancé, Peter Szczepanek, notes that she was also a wonderful jazz musician.
Rogers is survived by her parents, Thomas and Sandra Rogers; fiancé, Peter Szczepanek; brother, Benjamin Rogers; and a host of friends.
