In Memoriam: Herschel Balsom OD '58

Herschel Balsom OD '58 died on July 3, 2021 at age 90. He was an optometrist in Amherst, N.Y. for many years. Balsom also served twice in the Navy, and was a medic during the Korean War aboard a destroyer-class ship. 

Balsom is preceded in death by first wife, Beverly; and brother, Melvin, who was also an optometrist. He is survived by wife, Miriam; sons, James and Michael; stepchildren, David, Lisa and Rachel; and grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly, Casey and Jason.
