In Memoriam: Henry Girzi '50
Henry Girzi '50 died Aug. 10, 2019, at age 95. Girzi was a decorated World War II pilot, having flown 63 missions over Germany. He graduated from Columbia University School of Optometry with a special interest in developmental vision. He was the recipient of the Jaycee Distinguished Service Award and Life Membership, commander of the Civil Air Patrol and an honorary life member of the YMCA.
Girzi was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret; wife, Alice; and sisters, June, Dorothy and Mary. He is survived by son, Edward; daughters, Patricia, Kathy and Diane; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
