In Memoriam: David LeFevre ’82, OD ’83

David LeFevre ’82, OD ’83 died June 24, 2022, at age 65. Born in Burbank, Calif., Oct. 5, 1956, he moved with his family moved to Edmonds, Wash., in 1973. He attended Pacific’s College of Optometry majoring in visual sciences for his bachelor’s and earning a doctorate degree in optometry.

He opened a private practice in Shoreline, Wash. before moving to Olympia to join Group Health’s Eye Care services. After working with Group Health for 23 years, LeFevre left in 2013 to purchase DuPont Family Vision Clinic. He enjoyed his private practice for eight years until he retired due to health issues. His patients appreciated his thoroughness and care with their individual needs as he always took the time to clearly explain eye health issues to them.

LeFevre had many hobbies and interests outside of work, including music, collecting artwork, going to the beach and attending live performances. He had a private pilot’s license and was a member of the Center O Flying Club at Olympia Airport. He volunteered for many public services, including as an emergency HAM radio operator and with Thurston County JEEP Patrol Search and Rescue.

LeFevre is preceded in death by his parents, Leo “Bill” and Margaret “Peg” LeFevre; and two brothers  Ron and Paul. He is survived by his wife, Marla; stepdaughter Kristen (and Bret); mother-in-law Janice; brother James (and Susan); and sister Annette (and Dan).
