In Memoriam: Charles "Chuck" Reed '53, OD '54

Charles “Chuck” Reed '53, OD '54 of Kersey, Colo., died on March 30, 2021 at age 91. After receiving an optometry degree from Pacific, Reed was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served as an eye doctor at the Heidelberg U.S. Army Hospital in Germany. Following military service, Reed returned to his home state, and started an optometry practice in Denver, Colo.

Chuck's life was full of mountain adventures, wonderful friends and a loving family. He enjoyed a good joke, a medium-rare grilled steak and the occasional sip of smooth Kentucky bourbon.

Reed is survived by wife, Virginia; sons, Chuck and Tom; daughter-in-law, Shauna; granddaughter Clara; and grandson Otto.
