In Memoriam: Arthur "Art" Osterberg '64, '65, OD '65
Arthur “Art” Osterberg '64, '65, OD '65 of San Jose, Calif., died Aug. 10, 2021, at age 79. He met his wife, Deniece Mae Tippett, at an Omega Epsilon Phi Optometric fraternity dance in May 1964.
Following graduation from Pacific, Osterberg served as a captain in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. From 1966 to 1968, he performed optometry services for soldiers being sent to Vietnam.
Upon honorable discharge from the military, Osterberg and his wife settled in Idaho, where he practiced optometry for the next 51 years.
He enjoyed traveling throughout the world with family and friends, and spending time at the family cabin in Wallowa Lake, Ore.
Osterberg was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Etta Jean. He is survived by his wife, Deniece; son, Todd; daughter, Audra Frasier (Brian); grandchildren, Brett, Mekenzie, Grace and Ryan; and great granddaughter, Adleigh.
