Matt Creagan APS ’21: School of Graduate Psychology Outstanding Graduate Award
Matt Creagan APS ’21 received the Pacific University Alumni Association Outstanding Graduate Award for the School of Graduate Psychology’s applied psychological sciences program.
"Matt brought diverse experience to the APS program and applied his experience to his research and clinical work," professors said. "Matt’s clinical work was outstanding, and his contributions to the school showed a dedication to enhance both his own and his peer’s experience."
Creagan, of Salem, Ore., has previously worked as a sports communication professional with the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns, the Brooklyn Nets, and Oregon State University and as the technical director for NBC Sports NW.
His thesis was an exploration of burn-out among social media professionals in collegiate and professional sport, and he will be presenting his findings at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology annual conference in October 2021.
Creagan earned his master’s degree in applied psychological science from Pacific University in August 2021. The terminal master’s degree program prepares students to work as a qualified mental health professional, clinical or applied researcher, or prepare for doctoral programs.
