Mark Your Calendars for Fall 2023 Music Concerts
The Pacific University Music Department is proud to present its student ensembles in concert this Fall 2023!
Join us in McCready Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, for our choral concert "Can we Sing the Darkness to Light?" The performance will feature the Pacific University Concert Choir presenting a wide range of songs including A Jubilant Day performed by the composer and our concert choir director, Judy Rose.
This concert will also feature the Pacific University Chamber Singers under the direction of Scott Tuomi performing a variety of works including William Byrd's Haec Dies in celebration of Byrd's 400th anniversary, a choral version of Bob Dylan's The Times They are a Changin' arranged by Adam Podd, Stephen Paulus' beautiful The Road Home in celebration of the life of Pacific music librarian, Santha Zaik, Morten Lauridsen's Soneto de la Noce set to a text by Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and the rollicking Seinn O a traditional piece of Scottish mouth music, which sets Gaelic lyrics to instrumental tune melodies.
In addition, the a cappella sensation, Vera Voce will perform and there will be a special "Halloween" treat selection by the tenors and basses from the chamber singers to celebrate the season!

Seniors, students, veterans: $7
Pacific University students, faculty and staff receive free admission. Bring your ticket and Boxer ID for admission.
