Maria Muñoz Wins Boxer Spirit Award

oz has received the Pacific University Boxer Spirit Award.
She is a clinical outreach coordinator with the College of Optometry.
Since 2019, Muñoz has supported students, providers, and patients in Pacific’s mobile clinics offering healthcare to underserved communities through the EyeVan and the EyeSmile Van.
The mobile clinics support the mission of the university and the surrounding community through educational opportunities that allow students to gain vital clinical experience.
Colleagues note that Muñoz works directly with stakeholders and community partners to help remove barriers in healthcare for patients navigating complex health systems.
The Boxer Spirit Award recognizes an employee who exemplifies teamwork, collegiality and cooperation across departmental lines.
