Likes the Challenge
Jazmynn Hill '22 knows that working in special education is challenging, but she likes that.
“I am inspired by my students every day and enjoy building connections with them,” Hill said. “School was a safe haven for me growing up, and I had some incredible teachers who really impacted my life and empowered me to be my best self. I am grateful that every day I get to pay it forward to my students, and I know that I am doing something meaningful.”
Hill is pursuing her master of arts in teaching special education at Pacific University. The 24-month hybrid program, available through Pacific’s Forest Grove and Eugene campuses, prepares students to earn their preliminary teaching license in special education.
“I have friends who have gone through the program and really enjoyed their experience,” Hill said. “I love that there is a close-knit, family feel to my courses. My peers and professors are all supportive and encouraging.”
