Laurel Fuson-Lang MA ’18, PsyD ’21: School of Graduate Psychology Outstanding Graduate Award
Laurel Fuson-Lang MA ’18, PsyD ’21 received the Pacific University Alumni Association Outstanding Graduate Award for the School of Graduate Psychology’s doctor of psychology program.
"Laurel is an outstanding representative of the students in our PsyD program. She continued to serve the program throughout her time, concluding with her membership on the SGP Diversity Committee," professors said. "Laurel’s commitment to diversity and her fellow students is evident in her dedication to our school and to our field."
Fuson-Lang, of Granville, Ohio, earned a master of arts from the school in 2018 and graduated with a doctor of psychology, or PsyD, from Pacific University in August 2021.
The PsyD program at Pacific University offers a versatile degree program preparing doctoral level students for practice, teaching or research in clinical psychology. Students choose from five emphases within the generalist program, including adult, child, forensic, health, or neuropsychology, or the Sabiduría Latinx psychology emphasis.
Fuson-Lang participated in the Sabiduría Latinx psychology emphasis, conducting research regarding resilience among the Latinx community alongside Pacific Professors Professors Shahana Koslofsky and Ruth Zúñiga.
Fuson-Lang is now holds a postdoctoral position at Portland Mental Health & Wellness.
