Kayla Richardson '21: Outstanding Senior in Chemistry

Kayla Richardson ’21 was named Pacific University’s Outstanding Senior in Chemistry. She graduated in May 2021. She is from Sacramento, Calif.

At Pacific, chemistry majors conduct a capstone project that can include a research thesis, internship or independent study. Richardson’s was titled Understanding Conformational State Changes of the Human mu-Opioid Receptor Caused by The Psychoactive Components of Kratom Through Molecular Dynamic Simulations.

Richardson worked her senior year as a personal care assistant for Helping Hands Home Care.
