Ka'imi Won ’21: College of Arts & Sciences Dean of Students Award
Ka'imi Won ’21 received the Pacific University College of Arts & Sciences Dean of Students Award.
She was honored for her “grace and perseverance through difficult leadership situations.”
“As a leader in Nā Haumāna O Hawai'i, Ka‘imi was instrumental in both the plans for the cancelled 2020 Lūʻau & Hōʻike and 2021 Ho‘omau event,” her nominators said. “Through her advocacy and planning, Kaʻimi has built a strong foundation to share the culture of Hawaiʻi for future NHOH students to carry on.”
Won, who is from He’eia, Oahu, Hawai’i, graduated in May 2021 with a major in exercise science with an integrative physiology emphasis. This year she has worked as a physical therapy aide in Forest Grove, Ore.
Won’s efforts “to help students feel seen, included, and involved were especially impactful during this difficult year,” her award notes.
Fellow graduates Chris Walker ’21 and Charlie Kerns ’21 also received the Dean of Students Award.
