Josie Ragolia Earns Junior Faculty Award for Service

Josie Ragolia has received the 2021 Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Service at Pacific University.

Ragolia is a member of the University Libraries faculty in the fifth year of her career as a professional librarian. She serves as the Student Success Librarian.

As head of the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS), Josie has expanded the peer tutoring options available to students across the university. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked to ensure those services remained equitably available.

She has shown a consistent commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, most recently chairing the Libraries’ EDI committee and serving on the University Diversity committee and the Equity Exploratory Committee for Orbis Cascade Alliance, the regional library consortium.

She earned her master of science in information studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and her bachelor’s in feminist studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2009.
