Javier Barron ’21: School of Dental Hygiene Studies Colgate STAR Award

Javier Barron ’21 received the Colgate STAR Award from the Pacific University School of Dental Hygiene Studies.

The award recognizes a dental hygiene student who shows excellence and commitment to the profession by demonstrating dedication to dental hygiene, exhibiting extraordinary compassion in patient care, displaying enthusiasm and follow-through for community service, and enjoying the practice of dental hygiene.

Barron, of Beaverton, Ore., earned a bachelor of science in dental hygiene, or BSDH, from Pacific University in August 2021.

The School of Dental Hygiene Studies offers a two-year bachelor’s degree that prepares future dental hygienists with a particular focus on interprofessional care and public health service.
