Jamie Leonetti MSAT '21: Pacific University School of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training 2021 Valedictorian; Academic Honoree
Jamie Leonetti MSAT ’21, who hails from Clackamas, Ore., was selected as one of three valedictorians in Pacific University’s athletic training program.
The honor of valedictorian goes to the student or students with the highest cumulative grade point average in their cohort. Johanna Wilson ’20, MSAT ’21 and Kevin Attard MSAT ’21 are also 2021 valedictorians. All three also were named Academic Honorees in the master of science in athletic training program, along with Trevor Hunt MSAT '21, Emily Liska MSAT ’21, and Caylie Shiramizu MSAT '21.
“Jamie Leonetti is academically outstanding, but more importantly just a great person,” said Program Director Jeffrey Kawaguchi.
Leonetti was a member of the Athletic Training Student Organization’s Class of 2021 Officers, serving as secretary. The group encourage students to become advocates, not only for their profession, but for their community.
Pacific’s master’s program prepares students for certification and licensure as athletic trainers, healthcare professionals who work with physicians to prevent and diagnose injury, and treat and rehabilitate acute and chronic issues that would impair or limit their patients’ activity.
