'I Wanted A Program That Would Reignite My Passion For Teaching'

Lisa Story MAT '20 has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember.

“In preschool I would read to the younger children, even though I was not yet able to read myself,” Story said.

She chose to pursue her master of arts in teaching at Pacific University to earn her teaching license.

“I chose Pacific to be fully immersed in my educational experience,” she said. “I wanted a program that would reignite my passion for teaching.”

The MAT program is available in full-time and part-time/hybrid formats from Pacific’s campuses in Forest Grove and Eugene. The flexible master’s program focuses on hands-on teaching experience to prepare highly qualified, caring teachers.
