I Give Because | Tyler '13 & Kylee Oshiro '15, MAT '16
Pacific University is a tradition for the Oshiros, and so is giving back.
“We give because Pacific is a part of our family,” said Kylee Oshiro ’15, MAT ’16.
“And we know what a difference it makes,” added her brother, Tyler Oshiro ’13.
Both received scholarships to help them attend Pacific and have, in turn, contributed to scholarship funds and to the university’s annual fund.
Kylee is an assistant coach with the Pacific University softball team, which she played on as an undergraduate. She also is completing her master of arts in teaching through Pacific’s College of Education, hoping to become a teacher like her mother, fellow Pacific alumna Laura Oshiro ’88.
Meanwhile, Tyler was a top chemistry student at Pacific, who went on to work at Intel and later joined AmeriCorps to help teach science to children while planning to apply to medical school.
Kylee and Tyler’s father, Dean Oshiro ’87, also attended Pacific and went on to work as a loan officer for the State of Hawai‘i.
