History Professor Set for Two Publications
Martha Rampton, History, has two book manuscripts accepted for publication. A Documentary History of Magic and Witchcraft: Late Antiquity to the Enlightenment will be published in 2016 by University of Toronto Press. Her monograph, Magic, Ritual Power, and Women, will be published by Cornell University Press in 2017.
Rampton offers Pacific University courses on the ancient and medieval worlds and the medieval Middle East, as well as a very popular course on the history of magic and witchcraft. Additionally, she is the director of the Pacific University Center for Gender Equity and founder of the community Faire in the Grove celebration.
