Edward Kame’enui ’70 Retires from the University of Oregon
Edward Kame’enui ’70 retired in Aug. 2018 from the University of Oregon where he was Dean-Knight professor in the college of education, as well as the founder of the Center on Teaching and Learning. Before teaching in Eugene, he taught at Purdue University and the University of Montana; co-wrote 20 college textbooks; published more than 200 articles including 100 refereed research publications and 50 book chapters; directed over $80 million of federal and private research grants; worked for the U.S. Department of Education; and spoke at the White House. He also served on the original advisory boards for the PBS television show, Between the Lions and WETA’s Reading Rockets.
