Eclipse Tip: How to Make Sure Your Solar Viewing Glasses Are Safe
Are your eclipse glasses up to the job?
KGW Channel 8's Nina Mehlhaf brought several pairs of eclipse glasses to Pacific University's College of Optometry Professor Lorne Yudcovitch to show KGW viewers what to look for in their eclipse glasses.
Glasses need to have ISO certification printed on the frame and need to be undamaged, Yudcovitch. Everyone can and should enjoy the eclipse, he said, but preparation is critical. Even briefly viewing the sun without protection can cause serious eye damage, he said.
