Dr. Linda Venenciano Named Interim Director of the School of Learning and Teaching
Dr. Linda Venenciano ‘93, ‘94 has been appointed the Interim Director of School of Learning and Teaching (SLT). Dr. Venenciano is a Professor in the School of Learning and Teaching within the College of Education. She joined the faculty in 2022 as an education professor and program coordinator for the Eugene campus, and in 2023, she was appointed chair of the Bachelor of Education program. Dr. Venenciano participated as a faculty representative on the Restructuring Task Force and currently serves on the University Finance Committee. Prior to returning to Pacific, Dr. Venenciano served as a professor of mathematics education and the interim director at the Curriculum Research & Development Group at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Her publications include a teacher resource book on rich algebra tasks and algebra curriculum for students who have struggled with learning mathematics. Additionally, Dr. Venenciano has taught students from first grade through undergraduate levels and delivered numerous professional development workshops, both locally and nationally. Dr. Venenciano currently serves on the editorial board of Investigations in Mathematics Learning and conducts research on equity, identity, and a sense of belonging in the mathematics education community.
