At Pacific, have you ever …
- Attended fun and informative quarterly all-staff meetings?
- Participated in office decoration contests for Halloween or holiday celebrations?

- Participated in the annual All-Staff Conference?
Staff Senate is responsible for all of these activities and more!
Staff Senate represents all Pacific University staff and is made up of 17 elected senators who represent their department, school, college and campus.
You may have been wondering about this incredible group of staff who do so many things around all campuses. We want to make sure everyone knows about Staff Senate!
Has this piqued your interest? Has this information answered those burning questions that have been keeping you up at night? We hope so because we want you to consider joining Staff Senate!
Let us share what some of our very own senators have to say about why they joined Staff Senate and answered that other burning question we always ask ourselves: What's in it for me?
Director of Intramurals and Recreation, Senator Mallory Hiefield, told us:
“Serving on the Staff Senate has been an amazing experience. It has allowed me to meet other staff members from across campus who care deeply about our community. In a place where we may find ourselves siloed in our individual departments or roles, the Staff Senate provides a space for collaboration and bettering our university as a whole. It also provides great insight into the university governance system and how we operate. I would 10/10 recommend joining the Staff Senate.”
We will leave you with just one more quote from Senator Amber Vanzant, program administrator for the School of Healthcare Administration and Leadership:
“When staff ask me, 'wait, what's in it for me?' I say: being a senator gives you a front-row seat to the inner-workings of the university across all campuses, and a unique opportunity to help advocate for Pacific staff and ensure that our voices are heard."
Please keep watching the employee e-news for more Staff Senate information and quotes from our other senators!
