ASCP is an international organization with members located in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and 12 countries. The society’s mission is to promote healthy aging by empowering pharmacists with education, resources, and innovative opportunities. The ASCP selects three finalists for their Women's Spotlight Award. This award recognizes a female pharmacist for her outstanding contributions to senior care pharmacy, the mission of ASCP to promote healthy aging, and the vision of ASCP to be recognized as experts of medication management. Dean Marvanova was nominated as one of the three finalists for this prestigious award and found on October 26th that she won!
This is not just an amazing honor for her, but this is, in fact, an amazing honor for Pacific University School of Pharmacy. It says that our School's leadership doesn't just believe in our mission, inspiring learners, cultivating leaders, serving society - together, but practices what they are instilling within our School and our students. Such a recognition sends a message that our School is filled with educators that are not just going to teach future pharmacists, but rather mold them based on their own, real life experiences as pharmacists. That is what makes the difference between being a good School versus a great School!
