Daniel Eisen Promoted to Full Professor
Daniel Eisen ’07 has been promoted to full professor at Pacific University.
Eisen is a critical race scholar whose classes support the undergraduate Sociology, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Law & Society, and Gender and Sexuality Studies programs at Pacific University.
His published scholarship explores the relationship between identity, social structures, and power. More specifically, his work illuminates how individuals attempt to craft identities that resist systems of power and how these systems often undermine our attempts to create new forms of identity.
He is dedicated to creating a more equitable and just academy and broader world, which is demonstrated by his continued work with the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education and the National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development's Faculty Success Program.
The non-tenure promotion in rank for faculty members is granted upon recommendation by college personnel committees and approval by the University Personnel Committee president.
