COVID-19 Tracking Dashboard Available Online

Pacific has conducted or monitored more than 1,500 COVID-19 tests, logging a total of 20 positive cases among its students and employees since March. That’s a positive ratio of about 1.2%, considerably lower that the Washington County rate of 4.6% or the statewide average of 4.7%.

Most of Pacific’s positive cases in the past six months are among people who have had no contact with the university’s campuses.

Currently, the university is monitoring seven active cases, three of which are among students and employees with no campus contact. The remaining four active cases include two in Forest Grove and two in Hillsboro.

No positive cases have been identified in Pacific residence halls.

A new tracking dashboard was published Wednesday to provide weekly updates on COVID-19 case status among the university community. The dashboard will be updated each Monday evening with information about positive cases by location and population.

In addition to confirmed positive cases, some students and employees are self-quarantining because they are experiencing symptoms, which may indicate COVID-19, colds, the flu, or other illnesses, or because they may have been exposed to someone with a positive test. Those in quarantine receive frequent monitoring and support calls to check up on their health and needs.

Please continue to monitor your health daily, wash hands frequently, wear your masks, and maintain physical distancing, indoors and outdoors. These public health protocols are the best tools for reducing the spread of COVID-19 and for keeping our campuses open.

If you experience symptoms, contact the Student Health Center (Forest Grove and Hillsboro students) or your primary care provider (employees and Eugene and Woodburn students) and report your illness on the university Illness Survey to ensure that we are able to provide support.
