Columbia County Sheriff's Office Names Tyler Stewart '16 a Hometown Hero

Tyler Stewart '16 was one of five Columbia County, Ore., residents named Hometown Heroes by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office is spearheading an effort to send him and the four other service members a personalized care package overseas.

While at Pacific, Stewart played football for a time, and in 2015, enlisted in the US Navy. He is serving aboard the USS Donald Cook, a guided missile destroyer that patrols in the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas.

He has run youth baseball clinics and coached youth sports. He remains close to this day with coaches, mentors and friends created at these clinics.
