College of Health Professions Expands Collaboration with Special Olympics
Pacific University's Master of Science in Athletic Training program has been collaborating with and providing medical coverage for Special Olympics Oregon for the past few years. Now, all students in the College of Health Professions have been invited to participate.
As part of that expanded collaboration, a new virtual workout series titled Smiles and Sweat is being created and produced by Isabel Bellanti-Diehl PT '26 and Kaila Mann PT '26, two first-year physical therapy students. By utilizing the technology in the Athletic Training Lab, they are able to be joined virtually by Special Olympic athletes across the state.
The virtual workout classes wil be held every other Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The next class is scheduled for Oct. 25.
