Climb Into Spring with Outdoor Pursuits

Don't let the recent cold weather fool you — it's still spring — and Outdoor Pursuits has several indoor and outdoor activities for students as the semester winds down.

Calling student veterans to come together and climb some rocks with Outdoor Pursuits. Pacific students who are not veterans are also welcome to join! On Saturday, April 23, throw on some climbing shoes and test your abilities in the raw elements on a Veterans and Friends Outdoor Rock Climbing Day Trip. Whether you are a newbie looking for an entry level challenge or an experienced climber hoping to scale a tricky route, we've got the climbs for you! This trip is for all skill levels, and instruction, gear and transportation will be provided to all participants. Register here to reserve your space!

Enjoy a night of indoor rock climbing at a Portland rock gym on Saturday, May 7! If daunting, dirty boulders are maybe not your thing, join Outdoor Pursuits for an evening of indoor adventures instead! This excursion will be warmer, dryer, and just as fun as a day out on the rocks. Register now for May 7.

In the Wilderness First Aid Certification course, learn how to apply first aid and CPR skills in the backcountry. Participants will gain first-hand experience in responding to medical, environmental, and traumatic emergencies in the outdoors while also earning a CPR certification. There are two parts to this course, online and in-person. The online portion must be completed prior to the in-person certification. The course runs all day from May 18 to May 19, so be sure to register in advance to reserve your space!
