The Kathrin Cawein Gallery of Art is proud to present Flux: Senior Capstone Exhibition, a virtual gallery showcasing the work of six students from the senior class of 2020.

The virtual exhibit, open May 1, represents the culmination of four years of undergraduate work with a presentation of an original body of work by senior students in Pacific University's art program.

This year's participating student artists are Brooke Kearns '20, Dante Monteblanco '20, Jack Cuevas '20, Marika Marx '20, Philip Notaro '20 and Sabrina Spurlock '20. The body of work by each artist is presented in a dedicated multimedia gallery with an accompanying statement from the artist.

Combined, the diverse showing represents a variety of artistic expression in different mediums, including ceramic, blacksmithing, acrylic on canvas, photography, digital modeling, film and more.

Graduating art students display their body of work annually in a public art exhibition in the Cawein Gallery. The gallery, which hosts monthly exhibits and artist receptions throughout the year, closed its doors this March as part of the effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. Rather than cancel, the Art Department made the decision to pivot to a virtual format for the 2020 student exhibition.

The online format allows the artists to share their work with the public in a virtual gallery available to view globally. The exhibition will be on display through the Cawein Gallery webpages from May 1 through August 1.

We invite you to explore the galleries
