CAS Psychology Professor Todd Schultz receives high praise for authoring a unique genre
College of Arts & Sciences Psychology Professor Todd Schultz has received critical acclaim for publishing a unique genre: psychobiographies.
Schultz explained the phrase to The Oregonian's Jeff Baker, saying he takes biographical facts and subjects them to psychological analysis.
He has recently published Tiny Terror: Why Truman Capote Almost Wrote Answered Prayers, and An Emergency in Slow Motion: The Inner Life of Diane Arbus, the latter of which has been named a "hot title" by Vanity Fair and will be available Sept. 1.
Schultz' works have been well-received by The Daily Beast, The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard, the New York Journal of Books and the Great Britain's Guardian.
Schultz maintains a blog on Psychology Today and a personal web site. He has received a publishing contract for a work on Elliott Smith.
