Carl Boeck ’75, Optometrist, Nears Retirement
Carl Boeck ’75 graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University after Pacific. Since then, he and his classmate established their practice, Drs. Boeck & Schisler, in Santee, Calif. Boeck plans to retire in the next few years.
After 9/11, he joined the Air Force Reserves and served for 13.5 years as an optometrist and subject matter expert for the International Health Specialist Program. During that time he traveled to Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. He also provided medical logistics information for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) after receiving training at the Pentagon and Defense Institute of Security Cooperation Studies (DISCS), formerly known as the Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management (DISAM). He and his wife, Josie, live in San Diego, Calif., and they enjoy traveling.
