Boxer Athletes Go to National Championships
The Boxer baseball team is headed to the NCAA Division III Regionals plus two track and field athletes will compete in the Division III National Championships.
Boxer baseball has advanced to a six-team regional tournament being held in Collegeville, Minn., from May 27 to May 30. The winner of the double-elimination regional will advance to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 4. The team plays its first game against York (Pa.) at 4 p.m. PDT Thursday, May 27. The other teams in the regional are St. Thomas (Minn.), Scranton (Pa.), University of Texas at Dallas (Texas) and Chapman (Calif.). Meanwhile, Brooke France and Dominic Funk both qualified for the NCAA Division III National Track & Field Championships in the javelin throw. The duo will compete in Greensboro, N.C., on May 27 and May 28. France is ranked sixth nationally in Division III. Funk is ranked 12th. He broke a 14-year-old record in the javelin by hitting a mark of 59.13m. France broke her own school record in the discus this season at 43.35m.
