Becky Weaver ’98 Earns Professional Development Award
Becky Weaver ’98 won Perimeter College’s 2022 Professional Development Award for her outstanding work as an assistant English professor in and out of the classroom. According to Perimeter College's award committee, Dr. Weaver is, “active both in the classroom as an English professor, and as writer and editor for dozens of publications on the scholarship of teaching and learning.” Weaver’s efforts to identify students in need of extra academic assistance and her persistence in finding those students the help they needed made her stand out as an ideal recipient of the award.
She is also the first Perimeter professor to receive the Honors College prize, for which she was nominated by her peers, for her “dedication to students’ academic achievement, intellectual acuity, and ethical development.” Perimeter College is a two-year college within the Georgia State University system in Atlanta.
