Ashley Hermsmeier MFA ’15 Wins the Black River Chapbook Competition
Ashley Hermsmeier MFA ’15 was the winner of the Fall 2017 Black River Chapbook Competition for her collection of short stories, Something Like the End, forthcoming from Black Lawrence Press in February 2019. Her short stories and essays have appeared in journals such as phoebe, Michigan Quarterly Review, Flash Fiction Magazine, Streetlight, Front Porch, Weber, and many others. Her writing has won two other fiction contests and she has also been a Pushcart Prize nominee. She currently teaches English and writing in San Diego, Calif.
