The Alumni Board established three standing committees.
-
The Archives & History committee is charged with ensuring the history of Pacific University, as held by our alumni, is preserved in perpetuity. The committee is currently hosting a contest inviting alumni to submit original material to the archives.
-
The Awards & Scholarship committee is charged with recommending recipients for the Alumni Association Awards and the Alumni Board Legacy Scholarship.
-
The Enrollment & New Student Support is charged with developing strategies for alumni to support enrollment and supporting the ways in which the Alumni Association welcomes new students.
The Alumni Board also played a vital role this year in staffing events at Homecoming 2023, volunteering in support of Boxer Giving Day, making charitable contributions and writing letters to the Class of 2024 via the New Alumni Care Mail program.
The Board also worked through a curriculum designed to help individuals understand the different experiences of fellow alumni. This self-education will help members of the board contribute to goals toward an even stronger Alumni Association for all alumni.
The Alumni Board would like to grow this summer and is currently seeking members who can represent the following perspectives:
-
Attendance at Pacific between 1980 and 2010
-
Attendance on Eugene, Woodburn and Hillsboro Campuses (any years)
-
Graduate and professional degree programs – including alumni who hold more than one degree from Pacific (any years)
The Alumni Board also seeks other alumni who can offer perspectives not currently represented.
We welcome all interested alumni to review some basic details and then reach out to schedule a meeting with a member of the Alumni Association staff to learn more.
The Alumni Board will next meet on Aug. 17, 2024.
