Alumna, Faculty Member and Student Elected to Pacific Board of Trustees
Pacific University's Board of Trustees recently welcomed three new members and bestowed emeritus and emerita status on two outgoing members.
The board also re-elected three members at its spring meeting last month.
Dori Carlson '88, OD '89, an optometrist who resides in Park River, N.D., joins College of Education associate professor Catherine Kim and theatre major Kailea Saplan as the newest board members whose terms will begin July 1.
Carlson recently received the Pacific University College of Optometry's annual Kamelia Massih Prize for a Distinguished Optometrist.
Re-elected to the Board of Trustees are chair Mindy Cameron '65 of Sandpoint, Idaho; Julie Berglund Baker of Carlsbad, Calif.; Richard Hanson of Longbranch, Wash.; and Tommy Thayer, lead guitarist of rock band KISS.
Longtime board members Tige Harris and Yvonne Katz, whose current terms conclude on June 30, received Trustee Emeritus and Emerita status, respectively.
Harris is senior managing director at First Republic Investment Management in Portland, and Katz is a retired Beaverton school superintendent who resides in San Antonio, Texas.
Harris will remain involved with Pacific by continuing to serve on both the Investment Committee and as a member of the Oak Tree Foundation Board.
