Sancler Andrade

Sancler is an internationally trained occupational therapist and immigrant with over 25 years of experience as an OTR in acute care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation units, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. He is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and believes that diversity enriches perspectives, drives innovation, and strengthens communities.

His clinical and research interests are rooted in meaningful occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with chronic conditions. He is fascinated by the impact of cognitive functioning on a person's independence level and awareness of their performance and is exploring those areas further.

He earned his post-professional doctoral in occupational therapy from Columbia University. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and a B.Sc. in occupational therapy from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Sancler volunteers with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy on various committees and is serving on the Board of Directors. When he is not working, Sancler loves being with friends, playing fetch with his dog, and long-distance running.
