Kathryn Bell, EdD, RDH
Biography
Katie Bell, EdD, RDH joined Pacific University as a full-time faculty member in August 2010 in the School of Dental Hygiene Studies. She served as associate dean for Interprofessional Education from 2018 to 2023, and was appointed as the founding program director of the Doctor of Science Program in 2021. In 2022, Dr. Bell was appointed as the director of the School of Healthcare Administration and Leadership. She teaches students in the DMSc and DHSc programs. Dr. Bell has served in a variety of leadership roles at the university, including Faculty Senate Chair, Chair of the Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) Committee, Chair of the Interprofessional Education Steering Committee (IPESC), Chair of the University Personnel Committee, and CHP faculty chair.
Dr. Bell has taught many continuing education courses, both at Pacific University, and at local and national conferences. She has published widely on a variety of topics. Her research interests include interprofessional education, issues in graduate education, and issues impacting the dental hygiene scope of practice. Dr. Bell has been an active member in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, the American Dental Education Association, and Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions. She currently serves on the Interprofessional Task Force at ASAHP. She is a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national dental hygiene honor society, holding alumni membership in the Xi chapter.
