Dear Family,
We would like you to know about a special event offered to new students at Pacific University. Pacific Voyages are pre-orientation outings that bring together new students for four-to-six day adventures. Each is designed to serve students in their transition to college. Voyage trips will be combined with PACU155 to be offered for one credit. The combination of Voyages and PACU155 will greatly increase your son or daughters success at Pacific.
Voyages offer a range of urban, base camp and outdoor experiences. This year we offer everything from an urban adventure in Portland or Seattle to a six-day backpacking trip on Mt. Hood. All Voyages are led by veteran student leaders who have gone through specific leader training for their trip. Together with a staff or faculty member, our student leaders will be able to answer questions about life at Pacific and what it means to succeed in the classroom.
Voyages are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to challenge themselves, gain confidence, and begin building relationships with peers who share similar interests. We believe in this program so much that we subsidize each Voyage 30% to 40%. The cost for any Voyage is discounted to make these experiences as appealing as possible to students.
