Sea Kayaking: Willapa Bay

Spend five days circumnavigating Long Island in the middle of Washington's Willapa Bay National Wildlife Reserve.  Willapa Bay is one of the most pristine estuaries in the United States and is the second largest on the Pacific Coast. You will enjoy paddling the tidal waters around the island, walking its trails, and sharing a camp with other new Pacific students.  This is a perfect trip for first time paddlers and experienced kayakers alike.

Whitewater Rafting: Deschutes River, OR

Come experience the Deschutes like few ever do.  Spend three days river running, swimming, rafting, camping, and getting to know other new students who share your love of adventure on Central Oregon's premier river.  This trip offers class 3+ rapids that are sure to excite rafters of all levels.  Instruction from experienced guides will provide a fun and satisfying trip that will leave you charged up for your first year at Pacific.

Backpacking: Northwest Wilderness

Join your peers for five-days of hiking exploration in some of Oregon/Washington's greatest wilderness areas.  One group will explore the beautiful Cascade Mountain Rage, which allows for less mileage between camps and optional day trips.  The other group will hike greater distances and explore more remote areas. The distance traveled on both of these excursions is determined by the group’s desires. Backpacking is one of the best ways to experience the great wilderness that surrounds your new home.

Canoeing: Northwest Rivers and Lakes

Sign up for a magical five-day adventure as you paddle through some of the most pristine wilderness. New students of any skill level are welcome to join in on the fun. Time will allow for swimming, short hikes and relaxing. Each night will be spent camping along the shores.

Oregon Surf Adventure

We have added this new Voyage and it is perfect for a beginner’s surf session. The adventure includes five days of camping at Oregon State Parks on the North Oregon Coast and walking to your own sandy beach for surfing, hiking, and relaxing. This Voyage has it all: fine food, surf instruction, boards, wetsuits, amazing scenery, and even campground bathrooms to make life easy.

Rock Climbing: Smith Rock

We have designed two climbing trips this year.  One for new climbers and one for more experienced climbing. Our instructors are professionals in the field and the design of the trip makes it a perfect opportunity to expand your climbing skills and choose which climbs you want to challenge. The setting could not be more beautiful; Smith Rock State Park offers easy camping with shower facilities and our tents are only a short walk from bathrooms. Each morning sunrise blazes bright on the towering rocks with the Crooked River flowing at your feet. Join other new students on this unique five-day voyage.

Cabin-Based Adventures

Our Base Camp trip gives you the opportunity to experience nature while sleeping in rustic, but well equipped cabins.  Each day of this four-day trip offers a new activity and experience (i.e. canoeing, day hike, climbing). You will be immersed in nature while having time to relax, reflect, learn and connect with your soon to be classmates.

City of Portland Experience

This three-day tour of Portland will showcase part of the city that many students at Pacific never explore. You will cycle around Southeast Portland visiting museums, local markets, and more. This urban Voyage will allow you to engage in some of the best entertainment this area has to offer while focusing on current issues such as sustainability in the Northwest.

Seattle by Train

The Seattle Voyage is a truly urban adventure. You will set off from Portland’s Union Station and travel by train to downtown Seattle. While staying in hostels at night, each day will be spent exploring Pike Place Market and the Seattle waterfront. Art museums, libraries, comedy clubs, the Space Needle, and restaurants are all within a short walk of each other. Seattle is a cosmopolitan city with a diverse population representing many cultures.
