New Student Orientation Wins Prestigious Award
Pacific University's New Student Orientation Program awarded prestigious honor by NODAC
The National Orientation Director's Association (NODAC) has awarded Pacific University's New Student Orientation Program the prestigious Publication and Media Showcase Award for Pacific's 2009 Parent Handbook. The handbook was edited by Orientation Program Manager and Alumna, Jen Hansen '09, and overseen by Associate Dean of Students Julie Murray-Jensen.
The Parent Handbook is an annual publication by the university that was originally created by Ashley Hordichok '09, and Denise Price Geisbers '00, and more recently came under the direction of Associate Dean Julie Murray-Jensen, the Office of Parent Support and editor Jen Hansen. Many thanks are owed to all those who had a role in contributing to the project, especially members of the Orientation Team, Boxer Ambassadors, Pacific Information Center, Arts & Sciences, Residence Life, Athletics, Pacific University Library, Office of Admissions, CPS, Student Life, Marketing & Communications, President's Office, Paula Simon, Ingrid Unterseher, and so many others.
The Parent Handbook and Award will be on display at the upcoming National Orientation Director's Association Conference in Anaheim, California. The honor is especially exceptional, as NODAC reported a record number of entries this year.
