Freshman Major Fair features outstanding upper-class students

Freshmen ready to explore different majors can learn much from students further along in their studies. Major Delegates are exemplary students nominated by faculty to represent each major and discuss academic and extra-curricular activities with freshmen.

Freshman Majorfair: Exploring Pathways is a time and place set aside especially for the Class of 2013 to explore a variety of majors and the various cornerstone experiences offered at Pacific University. The second annual Major Fair will be held in the UC Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday, November 5 from 4:00 to 5:30.

Whether decided or undecided about a major, first-year students are invited to explore the realities of the various majors and cornerstone experiences by gathering valuable information from:

Major Delegates are upperclassmen prepared to talk with you about the rigors of their discipline. These outstanding students were selected by faculty to showcase each major via poster board displays, handouts, and lots of first-hand experience in their major.

Some Faculty will be on hand to answer your questions about major requirements and course offerings. They are more than willing to share their expertise to assist you make an informed decision. 

Registrar's Office staff are ready, willing, and able to answer questions about how to evaluate proposed programs ("what if" scenarios) and how to declare your major.

Career Advisors are eager to meet with you to discuss the various career resources available. You will begin to explore majors and transferable skills in relation to careers.

Study Abroad staff available to describe the wide array of programs around the world where you will experience the richness of another culture.

Civic Engagement coordinator explains how to serve locally as well as abroad. Students have served in Africa, India, Arizona Navajo communities, and in local neighborhoods.

Research projects reveal much about the distinctiveness of majors. Stellar examples of original research provide a window into the different majors offered at Pacific.

Individual invitations have been delivered to UC boxes. Bring them with and enter the drawing for a $25 Fred Meyer Gift Card. Refreshments will be provided.
