Pacific speech team starts strong
The Pacific Speech Team traveled to Fairfax, Virginia to compete in two tournaments October 2-5.
The Pacific speech team travelled to Fairfax, Virginia to compete in two tournaments October 2–5.
During the first tournament, hosted by James Madison University, senior Casey Nishimura placed fourth in Persuasive Speaking, and fourth in Duo Interpretation with senior Vanessa Whalen. Senior Jennifer Conner also placed fifth in Persuasive.
At the second tournament, hosted by George Mason University, Conner placed third in Program Oral Interpretation and fourth in Persuasive. Senior David Maile took fifth place in Persuasive. Nishimura placed sixth in Persuasive, and third with Whalen in Duo.
The team also brought home a fifth place trophy from each tournament for team sweepstakes.
Both tournaments were held on the George Mason University campus.
